Pete Nakos is a Chicago Hip-Hop and R&B recording artist. Without any formal exposure to music growing up, he credits the title of his debut album, Along The Way, to his arrival as a true music artist. “It’s something I always felt I had inside me and wanted to be.” The emerging talent is best described as a storyteller, writer, and lyricist with a rhythmically demanding rap style. Although the use of rappers as features on R&B songs has been around, Pete Nakos is the first to use rap as the focus of an R&B production and album.

From a songwriting perspective he’s an R&B artist, so he utilizes his strength while staying true to his style. “I feel R&B music but I’m a rapper. I took my strength and placed it where it needs to be.” He raps soulful lyrics, fitting more lyrics in his verses, leaving more room to tell a story and enrich the R&B experience. The new style hopes to grab the attention of both Hip-Hop and R&B fans and bring some variation to a changing and overlapping genre of music. Pete Nakos is also known for making Hip-Hop and Pop hits that become instant favorites with listeners.

He recorded his debut album Along The Way with Eric Yoder, one of the most accomplished sound engineers/producers in Chicago. Eric has worked with many of the best, including Michael Jackson and Celine Dion, as well as Chicago legends Twista and R. Kelly. The album features intimate and intelligent lyrics, engaging rhythm, and unique musical productions. Pete Nakos has also worked with former Jive Records producer Joe Ivanoff. He continues to gain support and attention marking Along The Way as the start of his music career.

Pete Nakos hopes to be respected as a talented rapper and recognized songwriter. “The most important thing for me is to be respected for making good music that people appreciate and love. That’s all I can do. Hopefully, the rest will fall into place.”
